Over the next three months, we conducted research on Indonesia’s economy and rural consumers, analyzing our client’s data, and interviewing company and industry experts to understand the opportunities and challenges facing our client.
We completed the following projects in preparation for the trip to Indonesia:
Client Questionnaire - original question list to get to know the client
IBD Collaborative Plan - aligning our team goals, roles, and processes to develop a high-performing team
GlobeSmart Cultural Surveys - Individual cultural assessments, cross-referenced with Indonesian cultural analysis
Project Plan & Scoping - We scoped the client’s project, creating a work plan with deliverables, expectations, and timelines.
Market & Business Scope (MBS) Report - We compiled Indonesian and market research into this presentation which offered detail and analysis of the client and their industry, including market research and key trends. This set the groundwork for ensuring we understood the context of the project scope.
Project Storyboard - After a storytelling workshop, we developed our client project storyboard to understand the client.
Pre-departure Presentation - An outline of our in-country plan for how we would support the pilot project and improve operational excellence.
Challenges included getting access to data from our client, as well as finding research relevant to rural Indonesia: most Indonesian market research is for urban areas, not rural areas.
In addition to working hard, our team also made time for bonding - here we had lunch and margaritas at a Mexican restaurant!
